Role Overview
The Web Team Manager will lead and coordinate the website team to ensure the successful execution of website development, revamps, and migrations in line with client requirements and company goals. This role requires exceptional leadership and technical understanding to effectively manage the development, maintenance, and performance optimization of websites and landing pages. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Ads, SEO, Content, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing efforts, conduct regular audits, and analyze user behavior through heatmaps and other tools to drive improvements. A key focus will be setting clear priorities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work, and continuously enhancing internal web processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the website team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Set clear goals, assign tasks, provide constructive feedback, and promote accountability across the team.
- Ensure all team members are trained and consistently follow standardized workflows and industry best practices.
- Plan, manage, and execute website projects including new development, revamps, and migrations.
- Create and manage project timelines, ensuring all deliverables are complete on time and meet quality standards.
- Oversee quality assurance to ensure websites meet functional, design, usability, and performance expectations.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal workflows and processes for website development, migration, and maintenance.
- Take proactive ownership of the company’s own website by performing regular audits, implementing approved changes, and suggesting improvements to enhance user experience and performance.
- Develop, manage, and optimize client websites and landing pages with a strong focus on speed, mobile responsiveness, SEO, and conversion.
- Collaborate with the Paid Ads team to build high-converting landing pages tailored to campaign goals.
- Post and format SEO blogs, ensuring compliance with on-page SEO best practices.
- Conduct regular technical and content audits to identify and resolve performance, SEO, and user experience issues.
- Use heatmaps and other CRO tools to analyze user behavior and provide actionable insights for UX/UI enhancement.
- Provide ongoing guidance on best practices for website security, SEO, and performance optimization.
- Work closely with clients, internal teams (Ads, SEO, Content, Design), and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure successful delivery.
- Clearly communicate project updates, roadblocks, and results to relevant stakeholders.
- Address and resolve website-related issues proactively to maintain client satisfaction.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team productivity and website performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports with actionable insights on audits, CRO findings, and project performance. Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies, and actively suggest innovative ideas to improve processes, functionality, and design.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in website management, preferably within a digital marketing agency or a USA-based organization. (At least 3 years in a USA-based digital marketing Agency)
- Proven leadership experience managing web teams and overseeing multiple client or internal projects.
- Proficiency in popular CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, responsive design, and landing page optimization.
- Experience with website development tools, hosting platforms, and performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
- Experience with heatmapping and session recording tools (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Microsoft Clarity) to analyze user behavior and enhance website performance.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and reporting abilities.
- Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset and a proactive approach to website improvements.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred Skills
- USA-based / Agency experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with A/B testing platforms and CRO tools.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Heat mapping Tools.
- Hands-on experience with core programming languages including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and advanced frontend scripting using JavaScript, jQuery, and JS frameworks. Strong backend development capabilities in PHP (all versions, both custom and frameworks) with proficiency in Laravel. Skilled in working with relational databases such as MySQL and SQL Server, with experience in API development and integration.
- Extensive experience with CMS and e-commerce platforms, particularly WordPress (frontend and backend, including visual editors), Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, and other CMS tools. Familiar with CRM platforms including HubSpot, Zoho, and other industry-standard systems.
- Proficient in using version control systems like Git, GitHub, and GitLab to manage codebases effectively. Well-versed in Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration tools such as Trello, Asana, and ClickUp to manage tasks and team workflows.
- Experienced with a range of DevOps and hosting platforms, including WPEngine, SiteGround, cPanel, WHM, AWS, GoDaddy, and Squarespace, ensuring seamless deployment and maintenance of websites.
- Adept at monitoring and optimizing web performance using tools like Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, and GTmetrix, and ensuring uptime reliability through UptimeRobot and Pingdom.
